The SPI has launched dedicated funding opportunities to complement existing offers and fill gaps linked to the specific needs of science done in Polar regions. The Polar Access Fund offers young researchers funding to complement their research with a field trip to a Polar region. The SPI Exploratory grants offer funding to start new collaborations and fund logistics related to research projects in high latitudes. Additionally, students can benefit from SPI funding to participate in international field/maritime schools.
This summer, the SPI will issue for the first time a new funding instrument dedicated to technology. The “SPI Technogrants” are aimed at funding the development of instrumentation and technologies relevant to polar sciences. More information can be found on the dedicate page.
